Join Queerly ME for an early evening Trail Mixer to wrap up Pride! Trail Mixers are casual, connection centered trail walks, and our flagship program. Periodically during our walk, we will propose conversation prompts to participants. Each time a conversation prompt is introduced, we encourage participants to “mix it up” and find a new person to talk to. This walk is all ages, although minors must be accompanied by an adult.
We will be meeting at the Androscoggin River Bicycle Path in Brunswick. The path is mostly flat, wide, and fully paved, accessible to both motorized wheelchairs and manual wheelchairs. You can find parking near the Merrymeeting Dog Park, 92-98 Water St, Brunswick, ME 04011.
No registration and no cost to attend. LGBTQIA+ centered and allies are also welcome.
Some things to keep in mind:
Please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early! We will be leaving for our walk from the trailhead at 11:00am to maximize our walk time.
We highly encourage carpooling!
Bringing a dog? Please make sure they are leashed at all times and that you clean up after them.
Bringing some kiddos? Please make sure they (and you!) are dressed for the weather and terrain.
Bringing a camera? Fantastic! Just make sure you have consent if taking photos of other people.
Our Origin Story: Trail Mixers began in 2022 through an intentional collaboration between Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust's Lydia Coburn and Queerly ME's Kyle Warnock. Since then, hundreds of LGBTQIA+ community members have found connection with nature and one another on these seasonal walks at various Brunswick-Topsham area properties. We're delighted that the Trail Mixer model has now expanded to other partnerships and natural spaces across Maine.
