Join Queerly ME for our touring community training, Cultivating Connection. Cultivating Connection examines the decline of community spaces, the loneliness and isolation epidemic, and how we can revitalize opportunities for affirming, inclusive social connection to improve societal well-being.
There will be several breakout group discussions during Cultivating Connection. Participants will learn about the impacts of social connection on all facets of life including physical and mental health, local economies, civic engagement, and safety and well-being. Participants will take away action steps specific to their professional and personal roles in life as well as several community organizing models they can apply to creating community spaces local to them.
Exact location will be shared with registered participants a week out from the program date.
Accessibility:
While there is no mask requirement, masks will be available at the door for those who wish to use them. There are three entry ways at the front of the building, side, and back. The one at the front has a tight turn immediately after entry, so this might be limiting. There is a second entry way that goes through the kitchen, but there is a 2 inch ledge of concrete to navigate in order to enter. There is a third entrance in the back of the trail center with a similar ledge of concrete, but the door opens immediately into the common area of the trail center where the training will take place. The driveway up to the trail center is quite steep for vehicles, but once in the parking lot, there is minimal slope and it is gravel.
